Position Overview: We are currently seeking a dedicated professional to fill the position of Special Education Teacher to serve our students in 9-12 grades. Position: Works with identified students in their classes to meet objectives outlined in their IEPs.  Assists and guides assigned students in all areas of school program. Assists Department Head with paperwork and all other needed activities. Maintains accurate record keeping and meets deadlines for all reports and student grades. Assists the Department Head with Preparing report cards, educational records, IEP forms, classroom observation records, and other forms. Develops and maintains accurate methods for student assessments. Attends staff meetings. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree required. Should have experience with special needs (ADD, ADHD and SLD), academic accommodations, state wide testing, and IEP’s. Previous teaching experience preferred. Must be familiar with special education laws. Exemplifies a strong overall work ethic in all areas of responsibility. Develops and maintains positive, healthy relationships with students.
