|Our founder Larry Simmons had a dream when he opened Eastpointe High School. He wanted to create a safe learning environment that fostered a feeling of community for Tucson-area teenagers, where they could gain the skills needed to succeed in life. Mr. Simmons established Eastpointe High School in 1999 and over the last decade and a half it has grown, to graduating over 1000 Tucson students.|
|About Charter Schools
Charter schools in Arizona are public, state-funded educational institutions. Charter schools were created through legislation in 1994. Charters contract with a school district or the State Board for Charter Schools to provide educational services. Charter schools provide parents and students with an academic alternative to traditional school settings, without having to charge tuition. All charter schools are held to the same academic standards as district schools and award high school diplomas that mirror those of district schools.
